Because that site is a bunch of underage little siblings clamoring for attention like crabs in a bucket. 🤦🏼♂️
Unlike here where it’s all embittered middle children in their 40s in their mom’s basement
lol the dig at middle children got me. I don’t even know what it insinuates but it feels delightfully petty.
Middle children are stereotyped as overlooked. (And desperate for attention but not getting any.)
Well shit, as the oldest that just makes me want to give them that attention. Is that a stereotype too?I’m the youngest sibling now. Please direct all defense requests to my older sibling.
Older siblings are either righteous defenders of the downtrodden or attention hogs blinded by the limelight.
Ah, understood. Unfortunately I dislike attention and am wicked, and therefore must apply for reassignment.
Sounds like youngest kid talk to me
¿Por que no los dos?
I thought the stereotype was that we beat the shit out of the younger siblings. Gotta keep those lil shits in line.
You beat them up, and protect them from smaller predators, as they’re your punching bag and no one else’s.
It didn’t work for me, mine was younger enough that beating up his bullies would send me to prison. All I got to do was call him names, and that’s only half the fun.
Which is ridiculous! As an oldest child, I know that my little brother didn’t have any needs like my little sister or I did. Every few weeks, there’d be a door slam or a yelled, “WHY DOESN’T ANYONE PAY ATTENTION TO ME!?”, which let us know he was still alive and obviously thriving if he had enough energy to make so much noise.
Fuck you I’m the youngest child and I’m in my 30s. And my mom doesn’t even have a basement (I live in the attic)
For real, I’m the youngest in my late 30s and my parents don’t have a basement either(I moved out in 2022)
Hey, I’ll have you know I have a room above the garage. I have my dignity!
It’s a carriage house!
So, which half of the horse costume are you, then?
You know when you get called out so hard you have to laugh your ass off? Like, give em the W, they earned it?
Excuse me buddy, I resemble that remark
I don’t know how to break this to you but its not 2016 anymore and Tumblr isn’t as popular as it used to. Most of these are grown ass adults which absolutely atrocious reading comprehension.
This is also why Tumblr is tamer about social issues these days, all the pearl clutching teenagers who will cringe at their actions later in life are on Twitter.
Apologies, I meant underdeveloped.
Here’s what OP assumed you knew they meant to say:
TAYLOR SWIFT IS HETEROSEXUAL
just in case it wasn’t fucking clear
It’s so obvious too. Hetero: the other or opposite. Sexual: relating to sexuality. She’s the opposite of sexual. Heterosexuals are often aromantic but not always, which may be the origin of their confusion.
I’ll hunt you for sport and leave your carcass where it lies. Won’t even take a trophy. /J
Because apparently people can’t pick up on obvious riffs
I thought I was being clever with the last bit, too. After a year, I still can’t figure out whether Lemmy hates wordplay or doesn’t understand it.
There are likely a number of very different takes involved, which may look the same at the surface level:
-
Gay women crushing on her
-
LGBTrenders latching on to someone popular
-
Pro-LGBT activists who make everything they see about their cause
-
Trolls stirring the pot
-
Foreign powers stoking controversy
-
Social media promoting anything and everything that drives engagement
-
Anti-LGBT activists promoting it as another example of the gay agenda
I’m sure there are more, but the point is that people tend to feel a personal attachment to anything they agree with that becomes popular, using it as an example in their own mind proving that the world agrees with them, without actually knowing anything about what’s really going on.

Edit: retracted. Apparently my reading comprehension sucks too.
What song?
Like a virgin
Thanks for your patience. The Voyager app doesn’t have notifications yet.
OK this is embarrassing but I thought OP was talking about a completely different artist and it only just clicked. I don’t know anything about Swift aside from the hook of “shake it off” which I’ve only heard a few times. I’ll retract the original comment.
why are we bringing up rebecca black in year of our lord two thousand twenty two plus two???
She should do an ironic cover of Gang Fight.
Meh, sounds like pretty standard pop singing. Lots of people can do that.
There’s no way I’m clicking that link. The possibility of it being an elaborate Rick Roll type situation to get Friday stuck in my head, and I’m not willing to take that chance.
Edit: God damn, didn’t realize Lemmy had so many Rebecca Black fans.
I think people are just kinda broadly excited about a “redemption” story given all the hate she got. It feels good to see her making interesting and enjoyable hyperpop after she was basically eviscerated by the internet for a crap song when she was just a child
Then you can simply search Youtube for Rebecca black and listen to anything uploaded less than a decade ago
Because she’s actually a good singer now. She took lessons and worked her ass off to git gud. Check out “Do You?” by her it’s my favourite.
She’s still out there doing her thing. She’s made more music since and recentlyish been on other TV stuff. I saw her with very short colored hair on a Netflix original food show a couple weeks back. One of those cheap to make ameature food competitions.
So basically, covid happened and rebecca black returned as a queer icon with a friday hyperpop remix.
My reading comprehension has tanked during the pandemic.
I feel like I’m not alone, too.
I need to touch grass, honestly.
I feel that way sometimes, but then I read further and discover a lot of the time that the thing I thought I read wrong was simply written poorly or by an AI. It’s hard to comprehend something that is incomprehensible, ya know?
Isn’t she dating a professional football player?
She’s not bi as best I’m aware.
But dating a dude isn’t a disqualifying factor.
