My first reaction was that immigrants are not the solution.
But then, that’s USA…you all are technically immigrants so whatevs, maybe it is the way.
Immigration is extremely important economically. New immigrants take jobs that average citizens wouldn’t, and can provide a large low-income population base, which keeps goods and services flowing, where they could otherwise stagnate with a more settled customer base. Anyone that claims the opposite is just trying to obfuscate their racsim.
Maybe economically yeah, I rather thought culture wise where relying too much on immigrants brings it’s own set of problems.
Also, I know that what you speak of is normal, but damn does it sound bad…“come to us to work for pennies in jobs we would rather not do”…

Japan has a 2.29% immigrant population. Then look at their work life balance.
Korea has a 2.3% immigrant population and you can see the terrible work life balance there as well.
The US has a 14.4% immigrant population and work live balance isn’t great either. As if immigrants aren’t a truly massive problem that the media makes you believe.

Both Japan and Korea have very specific cultures, and yeah, they screw their work life balance. IIRC Japan is currently working on changing that. But that’s their culture - part of their nation - and flooding it with immigrants erases not only bad parts but also good ones. Hell, look at Germany that struggles with immigrants as far as I know.

I can never get a vasectomy, I just can’t say what will happen in the future. Suppose there’s’ some sort of societal collapse, man becomes an endangered species, and I somehow end up captured by a tribe of busty amazonian women who want to use me as a breeder, just constant and frequent encounters with different women every night. However, they check to see if I’m still fertile and realize I had a vasectomy, then they kill me and eat me. I can’t take that chance.

Was pretty scared going in but now I’m glad I did it. 0 kids, haven’t ever wanted them. Lost a ltr because the woman I was seeing decided she did want kids after 5 years together (where we previously agreed we both did not want them).
After we split I got a little foot loose with dating and realized I should just make my decision to be childless my own and permanent, why risk it for myself or others.

I had pretty much the same thing happen. In a relationship for 5 years and suddenly she flips on not wanting kids and ends things. Decided from that point on that I would just voluntarily sterilize myself so that my own decision to not have kids is never a point of negotiation with anyone else.
Yeah that phenomenon is odd. She’s married with a kid now, maybe just 2 years later. Glad it’s not me pretty much daily we had a dog together and I was skeptical lol
I got mine done almost two years ago. I think it will be two years in March. My partner and I are 100% sure we never want to do the pregnancy thing and are like 95-99% sure we don’t want kids at all. If we ever change our minds on that front, there are orphanages full of kids of all ages just waiting for a loving home and I don’t expect that will change any time soon in this cruel world so we’ve got plenty of time to have a family when we want one, and in the meantime, I don’t want any accidents.
Plus, getting to rawdog my girl whenever I want is a huge bonus!

Even before the collaps of our climate and society became apparent to me having kids didn’t sit well with me considering the tens of thousands of kids in our child care system at any given moment.
Tens of thousands of lives that will be significantly worse, developing addictions and unhealthy coping mechanisms, unhealthy relationships, going straight from the group home to prison or the streets, all of it exists because people would rather selfishly continue their own genetic legacy instead of adopting a perfectly good kid that already exists and is suffering.
