    Did these journalists actually find a useful application for an LLM (sifting through a large database to generate leads for a human to follow up on)?

      It sounds like they did it right. They used AI to identify things for the humans to examine in more detail.

    I would say they are being terrible at finding “woke” projects. But being broad and terrible is the whole point. Everything is “woke” especially research so by getting bigger numbers they can lie better. No one who listens to them cares that the method is flawed they just want to see big numbers to complain and cut EVERYTHING
