If you’re asking for an open-source option because you want to self-host…well, at that point, you’d already have a web server. Just sftp/rsync the files over into a subdir of your web root.
I came here to say just this. People overestimate how hard it is to selfhost a web service. And if you really don’t want to selfhost there’s like a dozen billion non-profit hosts which can give you a tiny space to host your documents :)
Here’s one I ended up going with, it worked very well: https://github.com/claudehohl/Stikked
Looks like the demo is currently offline though
The third issue is talking about XSS sooo
Cryptpad takes long enough to load that i easily had time to screenshot its loading screen, and its javascript makes some laptop fans turn on.
After loading, it has 3 popup layers you probably want to close, the last of which (the donation one) is timed to only appear a few seconds after you’ve close the previous one and have already started reading the document you just opened.
It is nice that they seem to reliably work in tor browser (if you allow local storage…) at least.
