I can’t even imagine the kind of masochism it takes to run a website devoted exclusively to Florida politics.

You could run the same article over and over: Rs do something cruel and stupid, and the Ds step on their own dicks again.

I laugh every time I think of how the “independents” and non-trumpers were all mansplaining about how this weird man was going to sail to a victory in the primary, and then the general. Because something something “reasonable independents” and “moderate principled conservatives” and “trumpish without the baggage” and the left is too woke and too extreme for all the supposed Enlightened Centrists ™ that are supposedly out there waiting to have their vote harvested by the likes of DeSADIST.

Pretty sure that was all before he doubled down on attacking disney, showing he was willing to waste money failing to kneecap his own states economy for a pissing match in the culture war.

Up to that point, you could sorta make the argument that he was a smarter and less self-sabotaging trump.

After that point, it was clear he was just a quieter trump.

I get what you are saying, but these people were also saying these kinds of things to people like me in a very condescending manner, apparently not aware, or completely ignoring, that he’s weird and has a grating voice and just generally does not seem capable of even pretending to be human. I think they were just reading how he was “owning the libz” and liked what they were seeing in that regard, and did little analysis beyond that. And also ignoring that their party loves donnie like no other Republican candidate.

But these Enlightened Centrists ™ love to pretend as if the Republican Party is not just chock full of Republicans.

I will start off by saying that anybody like those people who vote on a stranger’s character like that with such full confidence (especially condescendingly) in this day and age are just dumb in general. There was definitely a point where DeKrampus seemed like a smarter, more methodical Trump by vurtue of not constantly talking out of his ass (at the time), so I don’t blame people for thinking that was the case. But yeah, turns out people’s exterior demeanor and interior mechanics don’t really line up so nicely for those assumptions to hold water. Who woulda thunk it.

… Those are all the reasons why trump had no chance to win at all, right before he nabbed the primary.

Of course they ignored them. They worked great for the last guy.

He should bow out rather than humiliate himself further, but that’s what a reasonable person would do. He’s everything but reasonable.

I believe the law was that a sitting governor could not run for another office while still in office, and the republicans overturned that because they do whatever DeSantis wants. I don’t know if there’s a term limits thing, but I don’t think he’s up against that sort of restriction.

What I’m curious about is the rats abandoning a sinking ship. As Ron starts to tank, are all those yes men he filled the legislature and the courts with going to stop returning his calls because they’re now on Team Trump?

His political career is dead after 2026. Not even OANN will touch him, if that network somehow survives their lawsuits.

Here is hoping he gets hit with federal trafficking charges after he’s left office.

They only care about their own self interests. He was valuable when he was a potential presidential prospect and his fascist bullshit was trending well with right wing voters.

Now that his shoes have done him in he has no choice but to go back to Florida and try to find an alternative position that will continue to allow a steady cash flow and the ability to continue his charade.

Sure is. All he had to do was own his height. Literally nobody cares. And yet he had to go out of his way to try and pretend.

Something about insecure men and their height. Trump, Putin, DeSantis. We are all so much worse because of their little dick behavior.

Here I thought he was playing it safe and only doing that to his policies. Good to know he’s a real trailblazer and expanding his ideals to every aspect of his political career. Now that’s the kinda consistency I admire.
