I get what you are saying, but these people were also saying these kinds of things to people like me in a very condescending manner, apparently not aware, or completely ignoring, that he’s weird and has a grating voice and just generally does not seem capable of even pretending to be human. I think they were just reading how he was “owning the libz” and liked what they were seeing in that regard, and did little analysis beyond that. And also ignoring that their party loves donnie like no other Republican candidate.

But these Enlightened Centrists ™ love to pretend as if the Republican Party is not just chock full of Republicans.

… Those are all the reasons why trump had no chance to win at all, right before he nabbed the primary.

Of course they ignored them. They worked great for the last guy.

I will start off by saying that anybody like those people who vote on a stranger’s character like that with such full confidence (especially condescendingly) in this day and age are just dumb in general. There was definitely a point where DeKrampus seemed like a smarter, more methodical Trump by vurtue of not constantly talking out of his ass (at the time), so I don’t blame people for thinking that was the case. But yeah, turns out people’s exterior demeanor and interior mechanics don’t really line up so nicely for those assumptions to hold water. Who woulda thunk it.
