What’s everyone doing for father’s day tomorrow? Usually I have big plans (museums, boats, etc) but this year for whatever reason I haven’t been able to settle on anything. Any good suggestions in the Western Chicago suburbs? Kids are 4 and 2 and I want to involve them somehow. Thanks!

My first thought would be busse woods in elk grove or a similarly large and fun outdoors forest preserve. I live out near Aurora these days but busse was always a fun place to grill, bike, and rent a paddle boat or something. Similar vein, Naperville riverwalk. Tons to do and eat.

Drove down to Ste. Genevieve and walked around visiting all the little shops. Audubon’s hotel and restaurant has the best pretzel I’ve ever had. Followed up by some museum tours and ice cream.

My wife’s birthday is 6/21 and my father in law always seems to come to town around this time. We celebrated my wife’s birthday today and will see my FIL tomorrow. I’ll probably get some gifts and a card at some point. That’s good enough for me.

I’m doing a gin tasting at a bar in the Chicago West Loop.

Maybe you could take the kids to the Tank Park at Cantigny

My dad and his girlfriend are having people over to his boat club near downtown Cleveland. Gonna grill out and maybe take advantage of the club’s pool.

I’m helping my dad with a cookout. Nothing too special, he always likes an excuse to fire up the grill.
