As we all know shitposting on an online left wing board is fun but it might not always improve working class conditions around the world. It’s important to put your ideology into practice whichever way is possible in your real life.

So what do you guys do to put your ideology into practice?

I myself am member of a Marxist political party where I do outreach and try to educate people on marxist ideology. I am also a Union member where I participate in strikes and protests for example. On a smaller scale I’m also engaged in a sticker war with far right stickers around my city, which sadly is an ongoing battle as we speak.

How do you deal with police brutality? It’s a fear of mine.

I live in a country where police brutality is not on the level of lets say the US. While the police is not perfect here, I do not fear them. Most of the time during protests and stuff, they do their job pretty good.

It would be easy for me to say you have to just go out and do it because there is always the danger of getting hurt or killed when going to action, but it is still important that you do go out and fight for your rights. I have been caught in some gnarly situations either with police or with right wing activists and while it’s scary, I’d rather put up a fight and either win or lose than just do nothing and accept my defeat.

Oftentimes you’re not alone at these type of things and having comrades around you helps with the anxiety.

Ah, there’s the difference. I’m stuck in the U.S… and dark skinned… and autistic…

I’m in agreement; but the idea of prison still seems scary to me. I’m aware of the awful treatment of neurodiverse prisoners.

In a ML party, and we do lots of protests, community programs, tenant organizing, union organizing, and some political education.

I like to volunteer at a good pantry every weekend I can. I’m still a minor so I feel like I can’t do much more than that. I do post a lot of stuff on Instagram and I like to think that some of my classmates think about it

Doing what you can within your means is good enough. If you want to do more you can check out if there are groups that focus on minors (typing that out feels wrong lol). In my country for example we have marxist groups that focus on students.

Currently I just try slowly influence people around me. So far I have them at least questioning everything the MSM tells them.

I live somewhere where it isn’t easy (or necessarily safe) to participate in socialist activity, in fact there are literally no local organisations. (Unionist area of Northern Ireland).

Also the Marxist movement is all over the place here. There are major fallings out in the parties and it’s hard to find out what the issues are or who is in the wrong or right.

but now i’m so tired and burnt out and depressed that staying alive is a more pressing struggle than revolution

i lowkey hate all you communists for ruining my life by being right all the time
