My wife and I have been using PayPal since its inception. I live in a rural part of Maine and most neighbors, in my immediate area, do not use PayPal and are averse to talking about it.
Are there legitimate reasons why someone would not want to use it?
PayPal LOVES to freeze your account and hold your money hostage for the slightest issue, or sometimes for no reason at all because fuck you! And their support hotline is famously shitty and incapable of doing anything. Way too many people have effectively lost all the money in their account because it got frozen and they completely refused to help them or even explain why.
Commissions? Privacy? Tech addiction?
Rural guys have plenty of reasons not to use so much stuff because it’s just not made for them

paypal is also notorious for having absolutely garbage customer service if you get fucked over or scammed; generally, i’d only use them on an as-needed basis and if at all possible not hold money in paypal to keep it from being frozen.
