Ooooh based, thanks!
Thanks! Sorry, I still have not calmed down yet although of course you’re right.
More important than being butthurt (which I am), I’m annoyed because I want to know when the protests are. And clearly the people on here do as well. So it’s illogical for them to want to see less questions about protests if they also want to see more announcements.
I feel you, but nobody ever answers me if it gets downvoted out the gate. The algorithm and all that.
If people like it when I post the event, they should also like it when I ask about events because that’s often how we find out about events.
Was tempted to downvote you because it’s not a big deal, but I think you mean well. :)
Okay now you upvote?
When I came to you asking what protests were going on, you downvoted and gave me the silent treatment.
F*** Y’ALL HATERS! lol
Thanks @generallyCobalt! Just checked back here. I’ve found that Indy SURJ is the easiest way to keep up with that crowd. They have no-nonsense emails about what’s scheduled.
I agree with your general sense of futility, but the idea would be that the US provides aid and security cooperation to Israel. The hope would be that we either a) convince the US government to leverage that aid to force Israel to protect civilians, or b) we contribute in some small way to building consensus in favor of peace in the future.
So it would be like if the guns and trucks used by China in Tibet were paid for by the United States.
You’re right, I wasn’t very clear other than saying “like habitat for humanity.” I guess I’m looking for volunteering that involves physical work that doesn’t require me to be super-fit, jacked, or trained, with not too much “customer service”-type interaction. So building stuff is good, and so are things like litter cleanup, warehouse-type stuff, things like that, as long as I’m not like moving like 200lb objects around all the time. Does that make sense? I’ve never 100% asked myself exactly what features I’m looking for.
Thanks @ramenbellic, that makes sense. Can you think of anything similar that goes beyond electoral campaigns? Like if I want to get texts about petitions, protests, volunteering, people who need help, things like that? ResistBot is great for that at the national level.
Hello! Indianapolitan (Indianapolista?) here. Mostly checking whether I was actually accepted. Thank you to the team that put this together, I was looking for a reddit community like this anyway. Indy_Involved is good but this is a bit different (and not reddit!).
Oooh, that’s a good one. Editing the post with that. Do you know whether they take broken bulbs and/or halogen? Pretty niche, I know.
reddit also recommended recycleforce.
