You gotta Noctua on that thang
I completed a build a couple of months ago:
- ASRock X670E Steel Legend
- Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- 128 GB of G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo
- Nvidia RTX 4090 Founders Edition
- Bunch of NVMe storage
- Fractal Design Meshify 2
I mostly emulate stuff or play 2D games, otherwise I’m working through my boomer shooter backlog.
Damn, Fire Emblem: 6 runs great on my beefy computer!
graphics card dies
Heyyyy, FE6, you’re the only one still with me…
me with my gaming PC just playing factorio all day
I’ve been playing LeafGreen on my PSP, almost ready to take on the elite four.
Something about GBA on a PSP just feels right. That was my first emulation handheld, recently found a nice condition original thicc model and jail breaking that thing has been so simplified. I remember needing a paperclip last time I did that
Stardew Valley runs great on my 1080
low spec toasters high spec super computers
playing gba roms
The GBA had a fantastic library!
I got myself a cheap emulation handheld and haven’t booted up my PC since July. If it doesn’t fall apart, it would take me years to finish what I have stored on it.
I had a period of like 2 years where I mostly played GBA, SNES, and PSX games on one - super fun. A slightly bigger one with more ergonomic controls and maybe PS2 and NGC support would be perfect
I really appreciate the steam deck for that
I want one, but I’d use it in the same room as my desktop PC like 90% of the time, so it’s hard to justify the cost. They also seem so large for some reason
haven’t booted up my PC since July
Do you not need to do like… productivity stuff?
I don’t have a computer toucher job
Neither do I, I just need to use my PC every day for my own projects. Even if not for those I need the use of a physical keyboard, just a much nicer digital experience than typing things on a phone.
My Lenin-given PC specs are there for math. And 3D modelling.
4090 playing osrs and poke rom hacks
Gaming attained perfection in 1998.
That era was a sweet spot because developers had enough power for complex games and decent graphics, but limited enough that they couldn’t drown their art department in graphics fidelity.
Common misconception—Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Games released in 2004
I think most people would argue that at least when it comes to console games, the peak was attained a little later, in the PS2 era
emulators make my laptop heat up like crazy
I need the specs for playing Minecraft 😤
this gonna be me in a week when my 9800x3d gets delivered
Just emulate from your phone. It’s super easy.
